We caught up with Goth Money back in February when they dropped Trillionaires Chopped And Screwed on BitTorrent: a slowed-down, glitched-out rework of the original album that was downloaded by more than 582,000 fans.
Since coming together in 2013, Goth Money has been steadily building listeners. They’ve also stealthily been building an entirely new geography of sound; one that’s referenced AF, but relentlessly experimental. Their new visual for “Gucci Racks”, premiering today, sees the collective in their element. Shot in VHS, the video follows Hunned Mill, Karmah, and Black Kray on ATV, in parking lots, on roofs, through the streets of Virginia. There’s poetry in distortion, in surveillance, in even the florescent lighting of a convenience store. What Goth Money does is teach us how to listen, and to look.
