Staff Picks: Blackbird Days share “Evidently” Premiere + Debut Album

The emerging singer-songwriter hunkers down in the studio with Queens of the Stone Age associate and creates indie-rock with a baroque pop twist.

Los Angeles based singer/songwriter/guitarist Monique St. Walker is a master at simultaneously combining light and dark moods and textures in her songs, resulting in a unique, indie-rock meets baroque pop sound. She has recently taken her current project Blackbird Days into clubs like Hotel Cafe and The Viper Room to play her new material in front an audience and test the water. What she received was an overwhelmingly encouraging crowd response to her gentle, yet commanding voice and music.

It’s coaxed St. Walker right back into the studio to record a 5 song follow-up EP, scheduled to be released in the Spring of 2016. For the new recordings, she’s back with producer/multi-instrumentalist phenom Alain Johannes (Desert Sessions, QOTSA, Them Crooked Vultures, Eleven), who also helmed her self-titled debut.

Today, we are partnering with Blackbird Days for the exclusive premiere of their new song, “Evidently.” Unlock the Bundle with your email address to get the single, plus Blackbird Days’ full-length debut.
