Producer, singer/songwriter, visual artist, and neuroscience student Arielle Herman, known as QUALIATIK, has a talent for merging unrelated disciplines in fresh, visually stimulating ways.
Today, BitTorrent presents the exclusive unveiling of her new game developing work in the shape of an interactive, labyrinthine gallery. The game focuses inward on both Herman and the player by, as she puts it, “investigating how we sculpt our identities as we process the mass of information constantly hurtling toward us on the internet.” QUALIATIK is the epitome of a new breed of DIY artists who, she says, “build entire worlds for their art using the tools (and identities?) they developed and nurtured in the palms of the world wide web."
What’s clear is Herman is a forward thinker and her approach to music is no different. QUALIATIK’S songs often blend the complexities of progressive rock with the accessible side of euro pop melodies and ambient textures.
