Trampled By Turtles started out on the side: a way for musicians Dave Simonett, Ryan Young, Tim Saxhaug, Erik Berry and Dave Carroll to take a break from their rock projects and explore acoustic instruments. One by one, their other bands fell to the wayside. Eight albums in, Trampled By Turtles has solidified a brave new world of bluegrass: frenetic, raucous Americana by way of punk rock.
