Sundance Institute veteran joins BitTorrent as Director of Creative Initiatives focused on film.
We’re stoked to share that Missy Laney has joined the BitTorrent fam.
Missy joins us following years of amazing work with the Sundance Institute as the Manager of their Artist Services Program, leading their creative funding initiative with Kickstarter and overseeing digital and direct-to-fan distribution efforts. She will continue that work with BitTorrent as our new Director of Creative Initiatives.
While with Sundance, Missy guided over 250 filmmakers through successful crowdfunding campaigns, including Sean and Andrea Fine’s Oscar Award-Winner Innocente, Adam Nimoy’s documentary, For the Love Of Spock, and David Alvarado and Jason Sussberg’s Untitled Bill Nye Documentary.
And now at BitTorrent, Missy will focus on collaborating with filmmakers to build impactful, sustainable distribution strategies and guiding platform development for creators. You can say hi here: missy@bittorrent.com.
