The first live album from the band will be released exclusively on BitTorrent Bundle March 16th, with all proceeds benefiting Big Sun Foundation.
In 2012’s tour documentary Big Easy Express, Edward Sharpe frontman Alex Ebert describes why the band hits the road. “To see life the way they saw it more than 100 years ago, when we were all children dreaming to lift ourselves and the world we come in contact with back into the magic.” For five years, the 10-person collective has traveled the world; sharing chaos, compassion, and folk on stages from LA to Sydney.
On March 16th, Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros will share their first live double-album exclusively on BitTorrent Bundle. Live In No Particular Order: 2009 – 2014 features more than two hours of music from performances around the world, plus a curated photo archive, a digital booklet and music video. Unlock the 21-track box set as 320kpbs mp3′s or 24-bit FLAC’s for a minimum pay-what-you-want contribution of $5. All proceeds from album sales go to Big Sun Foundation; a not-for-profit organization dedicated to facilitating more sustainable and communal living throughout the world.
To our amazement, it’s been seven years since our first show. We’ve grown up in that time. Beauty and heartache and joy stretched over that time. Our wills were tested and maybe even bested in that time. But mostly what a triumph that time has been…
We smiled “so much my face hurts”, as you’ll hear. We stressed plenty too, frowned and pained, but mostly we were doubled over laughing or riding our bicycles – and danced – we did a lot of dancing. And we played.
We went from friends to family in that time. We became (and I hold this word as near-sacred) a Band in that time. And here is an album that spans that time.
20 songs from that 7 year frame, as tips of the hat to that time we shared with you – our of appreciators, our co-conspirators, our people.Live,
- Alex
